Alan J. Rubinstein

Our Founder, Retired

Alan J. Rubinstein founded our firm in 1988, and for more than three decades, led a team of attorneys, paralegals and staff to serve the families of Southwest Florida through the challenges of divorce, and other marital and family law matters. After a distinguished legal career spanning nearly six decades, Alan entered a well-earned retirement in 2023. The firm commemorates his outstanding legal career and service to the community and the legal profession.

During his years of practice, Alan embodied the principles of ethics and dedication, not just in his capacity as a lawyer but as a person of integrity. His excellence was underscored by the extensive accolades earned throughout his career. Alan was board certified in marital and family law from 1985-2023. During his career, he was a member of The Florida Bar, the Executive Council of the Family Law Section, the American Bar Association, the Lee County Bar Association, and the Lee County Association of Family Law Professionals. Alan was a fellow in both the Florida Chapter and the National Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Alan espoused the highest standards of legal practice and consistently earned recognition in the Best Lawyers of America, Super Lawyers and maintained an AV Rating through Martindale Hubbell through his retirement.

Beyond legal contributions, Alan participated in civic organizations, demonstrating a strong commitment to community service and leadership. Alan routinely embraced opportunities to mentor and assist those in need. Alan was as a member and past president of Temple Beth El in Cape Coral, and was active in Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. Deeply devoted to education, Alan volunteered for children's reading and literacy programs. Throughout the years, in addition to bringing up attorneys within the firm, Alan mentored students at Ave Maria University and the University of Florida Colleges of Law, mentored young lawyers, and freely assisted attorneys seeking advice.

Through these diverse engagements, Alan J. Rubinstein left an indelible mark on both the legal profession and the community at large. While Alan has entered retirement, our firm is honored to continue upholding these standards and values in the practice, serving our clients with dedication and adversaries with respect.
